Not your normal things to do on a rainy day - For Adults

It seems as if the weather won't be cooperating this weekend and since it has been raining quite a bit here on the barrier islands I thought it would be good to share some ideas of what to do when it rains. Here are some good rainy day activities that you might find fun.

1. Surf - You’re going to get wet anyway so why not go surfing. The waves might be a little “mushy” but you can still have fun. The temps are a little better, but wear your wet suit.

shopping2. Shop - From Cape May to Atlantic City you'll enjoy some of the best shops in all of NJ, and you'll be stimulating the economy...

3. Play miniature golf, yes, outdoors, so you get a little wet, it is still a lot of fun. (Ok, I know that I am really pushing it on this one, but hey, these are just a few ideas).

4. Eat - Pretend you're on vacation and it’s raining, so why not indulge in some of the great seafood cuisine of the east coast. We have tons of sushi places, and a lot of fine dining restaurants. Go local or go super fresh, either way you’ll be satisfied. Want to have total junk food? Go to the boardwalk and get everyone's favorite "Funnel Cake"! (I have no idea who this guy is, he just looked like he was enjoying his rainy day food fest!)

5. See a Movie - Go see a movie at Franks, the Beach Theater or in your living room.

6. Spa - Go to a spa, there are tons of them in the area.

7.Drive the island - One of my favorite things to do is to take Ocean Drive and go as far as I can. The scenery is great, and along the way you can stop at a variety of small joints for a brew and eats. One of my favorites is the Deauville, don't know why, but the view is good, the burgers are good, the crabs are good, and the fries are the best. You may just want to take a drive around the island to see what there is to see. Who knows you may find a sunny spot. Sometimes it only rains in certain areas. (Kind of like Hawaii).

8. Mojitos - I like to make a big pitcher of these and sit at a nearby jetty, on the ocean, watch the waves and boats go by as the rain comes down, and sip back some Mojitos. Sounds a little looney, but the rain makes me that way...

9. Go get a pedicure and manicure, it feels great and makes you feel great, and your hands and feet will appreciate that you did it for them.

10. Visit a lighthouse - Cape May Point Lighthouse, Hereford Inlet Lighthouse (North Wildwood), Absecon, Barnegate Lighthouse.
