Sangria Sunday’s Starting this weekend @ Hawk Haven in Rio Grande, NJ
Looking for a cool thing to do after a long day on the beach? Stop by Hawk Haven Vineyard on Sunday for their fun and lively Sangria Sunday. Live music, vendors and food will be on hand. Sangria will be made with fresh fruit and they’ll also be serving Rosarita’s (similar to the Bruce song) but it is their Rosa Wine frozen like a margarita – just the image of it is tempting. You can pack up a picnic, stroll on their 100 acres which features 2 pounds, view the magnificent sunset and spend the afternoon with family, friends, spouse or date and just enjoy being. If you’re single, this is a good place to meet new friends.
Hawk Haven is really easy to get to off the Garden State Parkway take the “Rio Grande Exit” 4a – go 3 lights, take a left, go about a half mile and look for their sign on the right hand side. Kenna and Todd will great you in their new, huge and very beautiful tasting room which features an unbelievably long mahogany bar, cool furniture made out of wine barrels, gourmet crackers and food items, picnic baskets, chilled wines (Hawk Haven wines) and most importantly two of the nicest people running a very interesting business. Wish them success, because even though the grapes have been growing for 10 years, they just opened it to the public this season. Their wines are very good, if you buy a case you’ll get 10% off.
This is such a fun thing to do – we give it a thumbs up! www.hawkhavenvineyard.com – 609.846.7347

Hawk Haven is a divine little winery! Being from California, it was a treat to see how it's done on the East Coast. The proprietors are friendly, down to earth and eager to share their passion for their wines. I'm a fan of the soon to be released 2007 Cabernet. I'll be back for sure!

Where I come from there is a similar place called the Hunter Valley. And if I am ever in your part of the world I would love to compare the two places.
